Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects. These have included advocating to governments, delivering keynote addresses at UN Women and APEC summits, and collaborating with musicians to rerecord “Give Peace a Chance” in tribute to John Lennon, the influential musician and peace activist who was tragically shot in 1980. I also conceptualised and launched the first Women’s Chamber of Commerce & Industry to support self-employed women. Then I earned a PhD examining international women’s rights law. Across these endeavours, my work has been guided by a commitment to promoting meaningful change.
Writer
My career as a writer developed during my time as a journalist (press and radio), where I interviewed individuals from diverse backgrounds, including artists like Pink and Alicia Keys. My words have appeared in magazines, newspapers, and academic journals, reflecting a range of subjects and perspectives. Currently, I am writing a book aimed at empowering women, scheduled for publication in 2025.
Researcher
My PhD research examined International Women’s Rights Law and involved qualitative interviews with prime ministers, foreign affairs ministers, and attorneys general, employing the Appreciative Inquiry Method to understand how laws support women. Analysed through co-evolution and state feminist lenses, my findings highlight the pervasive dominance of patriarchy and the persistent inequalities that marginalise women globally. As my research progresses, I am increasingly aware of the acute imbalance of power based on sex. While the patriarchal grip on power remains deeply concerning, it also strengthens my resolve to advocate for change across four major determinants: health, education, economic opportunity, and political representation. My advocacy and research aim to balance power dynamics and ensure women have equal opportunities.
Speaker
With more than 20 years experience on both international and national platforms, my message remains consistent: to elevate women, recognise the values they bring to communities, highlight their economic contributions as the largest consumer group, and affirm their capacity to succeed against all odds. My call to action is clear: “buy from women” and “support the sisterhood.”
This message has been shared with politicians, policymakers, academic peers, business leaders, and small business owners across Europe, Asia, the USA, and Australia.
Educator
Recognised for my exceptional and innovative teaching style while lecturing postgraduates on ‘Leadership,’ ‘Management’ and ‘Diversity and Inclusion’, I use personal stories and real-life case studies to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Often incorporating humour, I aim to inspire and motivate students to strive for their best while preparing the next generation to be acutely aware of real-world challenges.
